Senior Java Engineer

About the role

Mavenir is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to design, develop, and maintain Java‑based backend applications that support its cloud‑native network software. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and well‑tested solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java, Maven, and related technologies.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following OOP principles and coding standards.
• Develop and expose REST APIs and work with both relational (SQL) and non‑relational databases.
• Implement automated unit, integration, and system tests.
• Integrate changes into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and manage builds with Maven.
• Use Python or Bash scripts for tooling and automation tasks.
• Deploy, debug, and troubleshoot applications in Linux environments.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and Agile/SCRUM ceremonies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Commercial experience developing Java applications and working with REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of object‑oriented programming, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL) and familiarity with NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in using Git version control systems.
• Understanding of Agile/SCRUM development methodologies.
