Data Architect – Technology Consulting

About the role

PwC's Technology Consulting Data Management team is looking for an experienced Data Architect in Prague. You will design modern data solutions for clients in the Czech Republic and abroad, working at the intersection of business, data and technology, and guiding engineering teams from initial design through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design end-to-end data architectures covering ingestion, integration, storage, transformation, analytics and consumption.
• Translate business and data requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable solution designs.
• Build modern data platforms using Databricks, Snowflake, MS Fabric and cloud-native services on Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Define data models, integration patterns, data flows and architectural standards.
• Work with Data Engineers, analytics teams and business stakeholders, and guide technical teams during implementation.
• Lead architecture workshops with clients and explain technical decisions to senior stakeholders.
• Evaluate technology choices on scalability, security, maintainability and cost, and contribute to data governance, security, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing data architectures and delivering complex data solutions, ideally in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of data lakes, Lakehouse, data warehousing, data modeling and integration patterns.
• Ability to turn business requirements into clear architecture and make pragmatic technology decisions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to lead workshops and explain complex topics to technical and business audiences.

Required skills

• Databricks, Snowflake, MS Fabric and at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Good understanding of data governance, security, cloud engineering and software engineering principles.
• Nice to have: reference architecture definitions, cloud/data/architecture certifications, data mesh, data fabric or metadata management knowledge, Kafka-style integration, and AI/LLM use such as RAG or vector databases.
