Junior GIS Analyst – Geospatial Data & Solutions

About the role
We are looking for a new colleague to join our Geospatial Data and Solutions team, working on mapping products derived from Impact Forecasting’s catastrophe models for (re)insurance.
Key responsibilities
- Support preparation and maintenance of geospatial datasets based on catastrophe models.
- Transform model outputs to meet data standards and client‑specific needs.
- Prepare and load geospatial data into underwriting applications and third‑party tools.
- Collaborate closely with other Impact Forecasting teams.
Required profile
- Degree in geography, geoinformatics or related Earth science (advantage).
- Practical experience processing geospatial data using QGIS or other GIS tools.
- Basic knowledge of SQL or database concepts (plus).
- Good communication skills in English; Czech is a plus.
- Technical and analytical mindset with willingness to learn new technologies.
Required skills
- GIS tools (QGIS or similar).
- Python or another scripting language (e.g., R, Matlab) – advantage.
- Familiarity with geospatial data formats, especially raster.
