Senior Lead .NET Software Developer

About the role

AFRY is looking for an experienced Senior .NET Software Developer to join its Energy Intelligence and Digital Solutions team. The role combines hands-on development with technical leadership and mentoring, and involves designing, building and evolving the company's data intelligence platform and digital products. It is ideally based in the Oxford office, but candidates from other AFRY European offices are considered.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and implementation of scalable software solutions using .NET, C# and modern web technologies.
• Have front-end experience using ReactJS.
• Support architecture decisions so solutions are maintainable, secure and aligned with long-term business goals.
• Establish and promote engineering best practices, coding standards and development processes.
• Contribute hands-on across the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and support.
• Coach and mentor other developers and raise engineering standards.

Required profile

• Experience as a Senior Software Developer, preferably in enterprise, SaaS, platform or data-driven environments.
• Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring others.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core and modern software engineering practices.
• Frontend technologies, preferably React.
• Relational databases and data management, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
• Preferred: Azure, DevOps, Agile, Python, Node.js, JavaScript frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
