Software Engineer – Identity Kubernetes Platform

About the role

The Identity Kubernetes Platform team builds the software, automation, and platform capabilities that keep Microsoft Identity services secure and reliable on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). As a Software Engineer you will design, develop, and operate large‑scale, cloud‑native systems that support critical authentication and access‑management workloads used by billions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate core platform capabilities that power mission‑critical identity and security services across Microsoft’s cloud.
• Develop automation and fleet‑management solutions to improve resilience, accelerate safe roll‑outs, and simplify recovery from production incidents.
• Partner with Azure, Microsoft Defender, and Identity engineering teams to deliver secure, highly available platform services.
• Enhance platform reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence through engineering‑driven solutions.
• Design cloud‑native systems using Kubernetes, containers, distributed‑systems principles, and infrastructure‑automation technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven software‑engineering experience with C#.NET, or similar object‑oriented languages.
• Experience building cloud‑native or distributed systems with a focus on reliability, security, and scalability.
• Ability to meet Microsoft and government security screening requirements.
