Threat Detection and Response Specialist
pwc · Prague
Job description
About the role
PwC is building a new, compact delivery team of 2-3 people focused on Threat Detection and Response (TDR), which will form the backbone of its professional services offering. As a Senior Associate in this team, you will combine hands-on technical work with a consulting approach: working directly on client projects, from technical analysis and implementation to delivering reports and presenting findings to clients. The role suits someone who wants to spend most of their time on client work rather than only on slides.
Key responsibilities
- Technical delivery (~50% of time): work with SIEM tools (mainly Splunk, secondarily Microsoft Sentinel), configure and optimise them, develop detection rules and use cases, conduct threat hunting, support incident response, assess clients' detection and response maturity, and recommend remediation.
- Client communication (~30% of time): lead technical workshops with client security teams, present findings and recommendations in business terms, and build client relationships.
- Documentation and business development (~20% of time): prepare assessment reports, solution proposals, recommendations and roadmaps, assist in proposal preparation, and contribute to the internal knowledge base and new service offerings.
Required profile
- 3-6 years of cybersecurity experience; consulting experience not mandatory.
- Ability to analyse data independently, draw conclusions and prepare technical outputs.
- Clear communication with clients; working-level English (B2+), Czech is an advantage.
- Structured thinking and willingness to work in a hybrid model.
Required skills
- Hands-on experience with SIEM (preferably Splunk), threat hunting, incident response and detection engineering.
- Nice to have: Microsoft Sentinel, cloud security (Azure/AWS), SOAR platforms, MITRE ATT&CK, and certifications such as GCIH, GCIA, GCDA, CompTIA CySA+, Splunk or SC-200.
What we offer
- Training in business and digital skills, and coverage of professional certification costs.
- Buddy programme, regular feedback and coaching.
- Flexible benefits programme, 30-35 days of paid leave, one paid volunteering day per year.
- Work from PwC's international offices from the Senior Associate level, social events and away days.
