VAT Specialist

About the role

As a VAT Specialist you will ensure high‑quality VAT compliance for several European entities within the Epiroc group. You will collaborate with colleagues across countries, contribute to VAT‑related projects and help continuously improve tax processes.

Key responsibilities

• Create, review and approve VAT returns, EC Sales Lists and Intrastat filings.
• Perform VAT‑to‑ledger reconciliations and guarantee accurate VAT accounting.
• Oversee VAT compliance obligations for the group’s European entities.
• Support VAT audits and participate in VAT‑related projects.
• Monitor the quality of VAT data and reports.
• Assist in improving ERP VAT settings and data integrity.
• Share knowledge and help onboard new colleagues.
• Analyze legislative changes and communicate their impact.
• Identify VAT recovery opportunities and implement process improvements.
• Coordinate with external Big 4 advisors on technical questions and complex filings.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in indirect tax or VAT compliance.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Tax, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Basic understanding of international tax, customs and trade compliance.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
• Fluent English; additional language is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with SAP (advantage).
