Chief Technology Officer

About the role

Vilgain is scaling rapidly and needs a hands‑on technology leader to shape its engineering future. As Chief Technology Officer you will become the technical heart of the company, guiding strategy, architecture and execution across all product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Define the technical vision and engineering roadmap that supports business growth, international expansion and operational complexity.
• Conduct a deep audit of the current architecture and codebase, identify weak points and propose clear remediation paths.
• Establish and enforce standards for architecture, code quality, testing, documentation, security, deployment and long‑term maintainability.
• Lead, challenge and develop Tech Leads and engineering teams across Backend, Frontend, Mobile, Internal Systems and QA.
• Ensure real‑time monitoring, observability and stability of all systems.
• Make strategic decisions on what to build, scale and how to manage technical debt in line with business priorities.
• Report directly to the CEO and oversee the entire engineering organisation.

Required profile

• Hands‑on engineering experience with the ability to dive into code when needed.
• Proven track record of leading senior engineers or Tech Leads and raising technical standards across multiple teams.
• Strong business acumen – understand how engineering choices affect growth, operations, profitability and customer experience.
• Experience improving system stability, observability, incident management and production ownership.
