General/Practical Nurse – Pediatric One-Day Care Unit

About the role

We are looking for a General or Practical Nurse to join the One‑Day Care Unit of our children’s inpatient ward in Hořovice Hospital. The position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to paediatric patients, preparing them for surgery and supporting post‑operative recovery in a modern, technology‑enabled environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver holistic nursing care to hospitalized children across all paediatric specialties.
• Prepare children for surgical procedures and monitor them during the post‑operative period.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable standard‑room environment with social facilities.
• Collaborate with doctors, specialists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in shift work covering day and night schedules.

Required profile

• Qualified General Nurse, Paediatric Nurse or Practical Nurse.
• Empathetic, patient‑focused attitude toward children and their families.
• Strong communication skills, especially with parents and caregivers.
• Willingness to work in a three‑shift system (full‑time or part‑time).
• Graduates are welcome; experience in a children’s ward is an advantage but not mandatory.
