About the role
GoodData.AI is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer specialized in Kotlin to help build a fast, distributed query engine and contribute to its AI‑native analytics platform. The role can be performed remotely, hybrid, or onsite at the Brno or Prague offices.
Key responsibilities
- Build a fast, distributed query engine using Kotlin and Apache Calcite.
- Develop algorithms to parse and transpile internal query language (MAQL) into SQL.
- Design APIs, write test‑driven code, and influence product direction.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and Architects in a product‑focused engineering team.
Required profile
- Robust computer science background with experience delivering backend features.
- Proactive, collaborative mindset and strong ownership.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Passion for solving complex algorithmic problems and technical excellence.
