Materials Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Materials Manager to join the leadership team at Gates’ Karviná plant. The role ensures uninterrupted material flow, optimises inventory and drives supplier performance to support production and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and direct supply‑chain functions including tactical purchasing, logistics/warehouse, material management and production planning.
• Manage and develop cross‑functional teams, setting priorities and ensuring effective execution.
• Guarantee on‑time‑in‑full (OTIF) delivery of materials in line with European and global contracts.
• Ensure compliance with approved suppliers, purchasing policies and negotiated pricing.
• Serve as primary local contact for supplier issues and escalate recurring deviations.
• Collaborate with European and global commodity managers on forecasts and supply planning.
• Report global procurement KPIs and dashboards accurately and timely.
• Develop and continuously improve MRP/SAP processes to support the Master Production Schedule.
• Drive inventory optimisation and stock reduction using appropriate techniques.
• Coordinate INPI activities and new business introductions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work closely with manufacturing and quality teams to meet customer schedules.
• Maintain and enforce ISO procedures within materials management and supply‑chain activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supply‑chain management covering purchasing, logistics, material management and production planning.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑development capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of SAP/MRP systems and inventory optimisation methods.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and procedures.
• Ability to collaborate with global commodity managers and suppliers.
